Why fiberglass is better than plastic for a tractor canopy:
Consider a 5, 10 or 20 year old plastic boat compared to a comparable fiberglass boat. UV energy degrades plastics, breaking down polymer bonds and weakening their strength. The breaking down of these bonds will lead to fading, cracking, and eventual failure.
Why fiberglass is better than steel for a tractor canopy:
Steel is great for some applications, but not for many. Steel canopies are restricted by the size of a sheet of steel. What good is a hat, if it is too small? Steel canopies are smaller, have shallower sides, and are often mounted on top of the ROPS.
